Yuri Krupenkov was born in the year 1969, in Minsk, Belarus. In 1988 – graduated from Minsk Art College. In 1996 – graduated from the Belarusian Academy of Art (Painting department, teacher M. Danzig). 1997-1999 – worked at the Academy of Art Painting Studio attached to ministry of Culture of Belarus. As a result of this work great number of theme paintings and series were created, the most important of which is a 7 paintings series on theme “Holocaust”. Central picture of this series was awarded Grand-prix in Republican Art Exhibition – Contest “Holocaust as seen by the artists”. This picture is stored in the collection of the Belarusian State Museum of the Great Patriotic War . Since the year 2000 – Member of the Union of Artists of Belarus. These days artist keeps working very productively. In the last few years numerous series have been completed: “Two”, “Family”, “Music”, “Holiday”, “Bathing”, “Portraits of famous people of Belarus”. From 1998 Yuri is also working as an accomplished book illustrator, cooperating with many Russian and Belarusian publishing houses. From 2004 to 2006 – assistant-trainee at the Department of Painting of the Belarusian Academy of Arts. During this period he has created the series of portraits of cultural figures of Belarus (V. Mulyavin, S. Stanyuta, Z. Azgur, M. Ptashuk). Pictures of Yuri Krupenkov were presented in many exhibitions and purchased by private collections worldwide (USA, Netherlands, Germany), as well as by the collection of Museum of Modern Art (Minsk, Belarus), Belarusian State Museum of the Great Patriotic War (Minsk, Belarus), Art Gallery “Tradition” (Svetlogorsk, Belarus). Since 2007 Yuri Krupenkov is Associate Professor at the Department of design at the Belarusian State University and the Department of Painting of the Belarusian Academy of Arts. Personal exhibition: 2005 — “Living a fairy tale”, personal exhibition of illustrations, Museum of Modern Fine Art (Minsk, Belarus), 2006 — “Once again about the love”, personal painting exhibition, “M-Gallery” of Goethe-Institute (Minsk, Belarus), 2008 — ” Free skating “, personal exhibition of painting, Art Gallery “Tradition” (Svetlogorsk, Belarus), 2012 — «Romantic Realism», personal exhibition, (Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Belarus), “Christmas travel”, personal exhibition of painting, The main building of the Belarusian State University (Minsk, Belarus), 2014 – «Duet», personal exhibition, Hevesi Sándor Általános gallery (Nagykanizsa, Hungary), 2015 – «Journey» personal exhibition, Vitebsk Regional Museum of Art (Vitebsk, Belarus). Since 2014 the artist engaged bookplate. He is participant at the Exlibris Competition of V Russian Exlibris Congress.
