Born on February 27, 1948 in Ostrava, Czech Republic. In 1963-67 he studied at the Secondary Art School in Brno where his field of study was Shaping of plastic materials, which was run by professors Frantisek Schenk and Frantisek Navratil. After his graduation he worked as an art metalworker and a medallist. Later his work was targeted at graphic arts. Nowadays he creates applied graphic arts as well as graphics. His interest in literature led him to illustration and setting out of books. At the same time he started to create ex-libris and has been awarded a few prizes in international competitions. He devotes to graphic arts and painting as a member of Ostrava s “Group 4” and artist´s union “Nova vec” (New Thing). He works as a teacher at the department of Graphic arts at the Secondary Art School in Ostrava. He has organized nineteen solo exhibitions and has participated in many others. As a curator he works in the Gallery in the Middle of the Town in the Municipal Library in Ostrava where he arranges art exhibitions of ex-libris.
